SCOTTY MCCREERY - Lonely - Triple Tigers

At last, the wait is finally over.  ‘Rise And Fall,’ the highly anticipated new album from Scotty McCreery, is set to be released on May 10th.  And serving as the final preview of the new record, “Lonely”, a brand-new track, is available now digitally and on all streaming platforms via Triple Tigers.

The song is riddled with steel guitar and the mid-tempo melodies that made us fall in love with traditional country music years ago.  Straight from the dance hall speakers to the ears of fans of all ages and backgrounds, “Lonely” showcases McCreery’s undeniably gifted vocal delivery.  His range and flexibility steal the show, beautifully supported by the clean, catchy melody that will have us all swaying and tapping through the 3+ minutes of crooning musical satisfaction.

“I love a good heartbreak, honky-tonk country song, and ‘Lonely’ is definitely that,” McCreery said.  “This song is so much fun to perform live and have the audience sing along with us.  I’ve had a lot of requests from fans who’ve heard this song on the road to put it out on streaming.  Here you go!”

From the onset, this is a fun, upbeat sing-along song for country traditionalists.  Flashing resemblances to the likes of Brooks & Dunn, Scotty takes charge quickly from the first line of the opening verse, delivering his signature vocal style with the assurance and confidence we have come to expect from the North Carolina native.  The lyrics are quick, clever, and calculated, encouraging the listeners to attempt to sing along while bogging heads and tapping toes.

“Friends on the jukebox and friends wall to wall

Dimes on the dance floor and cheap alcohol

Round after round, we’re all having a ball

I guess lonely ain’t lonely after all”

Written by Scotty along with Brent Anderson, Derek George, Frank Rogers, Bobby Hamrick, Jeremy Bussey and Monty Criswell, this is a heartbreak anthem that, based on the subject matter, has every intention on being a ballad, but is a sing-along honk-tonker from start to finish.  This is where McCreery shines the brightest, tapping into his traditional roots as he two-steps his way through the irresistibly catchy melody.  Perfect for a drive with the windows down as well as to hear live at a show, the tune promises to be instant favorite amongst fans young and old.

The release of “Lonely” comes as McCreery is still enjoying the resiliently successful Top 10 single “Cab In A Solo”, as well as other releases “Can’t Pass The Bar”, “Love Like This,” and “Red Letter Blueprint”, all of which will be featured on ‘Rise And Fall’.  Having wrapped his “Cab In A Solo Tour” in mid-March, McCreery will be supporting the release of ‘Rise And Fall’ with dozens of dates through the spring and summer at venues across the country.
