We recently touched base with Buddy Jewell, the hitmaking artist many recognize from “Sweet Southern Comfort,” “Help Pour Out The Rain (Lacey’s Song),” and “If She Were Any Other Woman,” to chat with him about what to expect from his performance at this event, what it means to him to be part of causes like this, who he’s looking forward to see play that night, and much more!

1) You’re a part of the upcoming ‘Amp Up 4 Kids’ event hosted by the incredible organization Music Amplifies on Friday November 3, 2023 at The Palace Theatre in Gallatin, TN. What can people expect from your performance on this night?

I'll play some of my hit songs and some newer material that night.

2) What does it mean to you to be part of Music Amplifies and their current mission of delivering Christmas to kids who might not otherwise have one?

I am always happy to be involved in anything that has to do with benefiting children. I feel that it's part of my mission that God has given me to have a lasting effect on young people.

3) Looking inward for just one question, which other performer are you excited to get to see that’s on the bill for this incredible night? And what songs do you hope to hear from them?

John Ford Coley. I have been an enormous England Dan and John Ford Coley fan since they first came out in the 70s. I count them among my musical influences coming up. I love several of their songs and would be tickled to death just to get to meet him and hear him perform any song.                                                      

4) One last question! When the final note of this night is played, what impact do you hope that you and your performance will have in moving the hearts of the crowd to encourage them to continue supporting the mission of Music Amplifies throughout the year?

As with any benefit I hope my music connects with the audience and encourages them to be more involved in children's charities in general.
