Tenille Arts has made herself a household name for many in the country music world. In 2022, she was nominated by the ACM Awards for New Female Artist of the Year, the iHeartRadio Music Awards for Best New Country Artist, and the CMT Music Awards for Female Video and Breakthrough Video of the Year.
So far in 2023, the talented songstress continues to release beautiful, through-provoking music that showcases just how diverse and sophisticated she is as a singer and songwriter. Her latest tune, “Summer Don’t Go”, is out now and available across all streaming platforms via Dreamcatcher Artists.
Written by Jordan Reynolds, Allison Veltz Cruz, and Ross Copperman, this track is released at the perfect time. At the onset of summer, we are all looking forward to the memories we are going to make which also leads us to take a trip down memory lane and look back at our past. And while some thoughts bring a smile to our faces, others do not.
“Summer Don’t Go” takes us into the mind of the singer, who is anticipating how she will feel in the future about the moments she is living now. While she is loving every minute spent with this person, she knows the impending inevitability of the end of the summer will mean having to say goodbye to someone whom she has come to care so much.
“Summer, don’t go
I don’t ever wanna lose this spark
Leave the sun in the sky and heat on high
Keep his ’87 chevy in park
Could you stop time in July?
I’d give anything to stay in his arms
Summer, don’t go breaking my heart”
It’s an open-hearted letter to father time, asking for things to slow down and to not end this time in her life that she knows is special and that she may not ever get to experience again. The musical arrangement is beautiful and perfectly conveys the vibe of a somber appreciation of love and living life. The lyrics are poetic and put the listener right in the situation the singer is living. We have all been in a moment like this…loving it and dreading its end.
Premiered by Arts at CMA Fest in June, “Summer Don’t Go” follows releases from earlier this year including the heartfelt “Mama’s Eyes”, a special version of “Jealous of Myself” featuring LeAnn Rimes, as well as “Last Time Last” with Maddie & Tae. While continuously and consistently adding well-regarded songs to her musical catalogue, Tenille is also giving fans plenty of opportunities to see her live, as she has dates scheduled across the United States and Canada throughout the summer and fall.
