ERIN GIBNEY - You Made Your Bed - Rock Ridge Music
Southington, CT native and TCM Class of 2022 artist Erin Gibney has released her latest tune out into the world. “You Made Your Bed” is available now digitally and on all streaming platforms via Rock Ridge Music.
This is yet another toe-tapping, dance-along melodic escape, which has become a trend and expectation of the singer-songwriter’s music over the past few years. Gibney finds herself right at home and in her comfort zone with this track, harmonizing her way through clever wordplay alongside an irresistibly catchy melody. This is a country-pop anthem to its core, intertwining elements of early Taylor Swift and Kelsea Ballerini with nostalgic undertones of pop-rock from the early 2000’s. The riffs, hooks, and runs are a fun listen, and her undeniably beautiful vocal harmonies blend perfectly alongside the musical arrangement from start to finish.
From a musical standpoint, “Made Your Bed” is everything we have come to know and love from this talented songstress. Lyrically, however, this tune introduces the country music masses to a more vulnerable side to its writer.
“But that’s all lost on me
You’re just a little too late
You miss me in your sheets
But that’s the price you pay”
This tune was a self-proclaimed relief to create, enabling Erin to release the negative feelings she had bottled up in the aftermath of a toxic relationship. But as is the case with so many of us, music is her medicine and helped her through this difficult time in her life. Thus, she has mixed emotions as she releases this new track.
“I am both nervous and excited to put it into the world because it is sure to stand on its own island within my current catalogue,” Erin said. “It is my hope that this song gives people the courage and empowerment to walk away from the toxic relationships in their own life.”
“You Made Your Bed” follows “Talk Me Out Of Him” from earlier this summer, as well as “Exit Signs,” featuring Kris Allen. Also including past releases “Naïve” and “Easy Like That,” Erin continues to build a very impressive musical catalogue.
