JULY MOON - Whiskey Drinkin' Women - Liz Rose Music
It is a difficult task to make a monumental first impression in today’s country music world. With thousands of artists pining for the same goals, it can be common for many aspiring musicians to get lost in the shuffle of the countless singers and songwriters longing for their music to heard by the masses.
For Nashville-based trio July Moon, they immediately grabbed the attention of fans with the release of their debut single earlier this year and continue to garner new followers with subsequent tracks that showcase the energy, talent, and determination of a group destined for success.
“Whiskey Drinkin’ Women” is an ode to the strong, independent, self-sufficient women out there who work hard but know how to let loose and enjoy life. And while the subject matter may not exactly break the mold from what we’ve heard before, what cannot be overlooked is the incredible talent that is on full display on this track from start to finish.
This is an upbeat, sing-and-dance along party anthem, complete with clever lyrics that will have the listener chiming in midway through the first chorus. The vocal harmonies amongst members Cassidy Daniels, Piper Bateman, and Braelyn Watt are beautiful, and the power, prowess, and flexibility of each lady’s delivery puts this song on another level. This group is comprised of three women, each of which could easily handle lead vocal duties on a full-time basis, but their ability to blend their vocals with varying ranges, intensities, and pitches seem effortless and are incredibly enjoyable to experience for the listener.
Inspired by the likes of Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, and The Chicks, the ladies of July Moon showcase elements drawn from those legendary acts that came before them to create their own unique sound.
“Whiskey Drinkin’ Women” is a favorite amongst the group’s following, propelling it to a viral hit over a year and a half ago. Now, it is getting its well-deserved time in the spotlight. Following their debut single “Champagne Plans”, released in April, and their wedding playlist favorite “Someone Like Me” from August, “Whiskey Drinkin’ Women” is the featured tune off their self-titled debut EP, available everywhere as of October 13th.
