SISTER HAZEL - Love You More - Rock Ridge Music

With their breakout hits “All For You,” “Change Your Mind,” and “Champagne High,” Platinum-Selling/ Grammy-nominated Sister Hazel launched their 25+ year career and have continuously piled mountains of accolades ever since.

However, the group’s sustainability shines brightly through their ability to reimagine their core sound, always keeping it exciting and fresh with each new chapter; their current being within the country music genre which has already seen them earning four back-to-back Billboard Top Country Albums Chart entries.

With the release of their first new music since their ambitious EP series, Elements, the highly anticipated “Love You More” tiptoes the band along the genre lines of their modern country flavoring while smashing straight into a catchy groove that recalls their earliest era, satisfying the essence of who they are overall and which direction they’re going from here.

The song, written by Hazel’s Andrew Copeland and Ryan Newell with Jack Sizemore, leans into an addictively funky infused drive of pop edged flare to slap you through the intro and immediately get the listener bopping along as Ken Block’s signature vocal slides in.

I know you’ve been burned a few times,” he sings in the opening line, setting the instant tone of the lyric as he engages a love interest who like so many has been hurt and built walls of protection around her heart which he’s now trying to reassuringly take down brick by brick.

Asking her “what’s it gonna take to break through and start your healing,” while championing that “all it takes is a little faith,” the melody hits the irresistible sway of the chorus where he heartfelt promises:

“I can love you more than anyone’s ever loved anything

I’ll catch you when you fall, be there through it all

You can count on me

If you thought you knew love before

I’m gonna love you more”

Masterfully shifting from her needs in the second verse, he confessionally reassures her that she has his heart fluttering as he unpacks his emotions through lines such as “It’s been lifetimes just waiting for this moment” while floating on the unexplainable, head over heels feeling that “every day is so brand new.”

In a lasting flare that matches the already heightened buzz of the song, the groove laden bassline that drives into the final chorus ignites a clap along that adds an unmistakable audience participation moment that not only makes this up-tempo expertly suited for a surge at mainstream radio, but also a perfect fit for their energetic live shows.
