HAILEY WHITTERS FT. MOLLY TUTTLE - Prodigal Daughter - Pigasus/Songs & Daughters/Big Loud

Fresh off the release of her first track of 2025, “Casseroles,” GRAMMY-nominated, Platinum-selling singer-songwriter Hailey Whitters is offering a brand-new tune for fans, one that includes special guests while offering yet another side of the talented songstress.  “Prodigal Daughter” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Pigasus Records / Big Loud Records / Songs & Daughters.

Both lyrically and musically, this song serves as an ode to her influences growing up, which have shaped the direction of her career to this point.  Bluegrass has always been key component to songwriting process for Hailey, who recruited special guest Molly Tuttle to contribute guitar and harmony vocals to the track.

“‘Prodigal Daughter’ represents a return to my roots, my faith and what's important to me,” Whitters said. “Over the last few years, I've been listening to a lot of bluegrass music, and I’ve been so excited by the new faces propelling the genre. Their music definitely inspired this one, and I was lucky enough to get Molly Tuttle to be a part of it.”

The Iowa-born, Nashville-based recording artist penned the tune with Paul Sikes and Bryan Simpson, who she collaborated with on her platinum hit, “Everything She Ain’t.”  The new track also features performances by reigning CMA Music Of The Year Charlie Worsham and standout bluegrass players Bryan Sutton, Stuart Duncan, and Justin Moses.

“Holy smoke and holy water

From doe-eyed girl to prodigal daughter

Did a devil’s dance to a fiddle in a holler

This angel’s hell on the Heavenly Father”

Already slated as her second release of the young year, “Prodigal Daughter” follows “Casseroles”, which marked Whitters’ first single since her critically-acclaimed 2023 EP, ‘I’m In Love’.  That same year, Whitters was nominated for New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards and took home the ACM Award for New Female Artist of the Year, performing her platinum certified hit “Everything She Ain’t” during the show. The song marked her debut on the Billboard Hot 100 and her first top 20 hit at country radio.

In recent months, Whitters has released collaborations with Max McNown, Evan Honer and Brooks & Dunn. In November, she experienced a full-circle moment supporting Alan Jackson on his final tour date of 2024 in Salt Lake City after penning his 2017 single “The Older I Get.” Whitters closed out her year with two sold-out shows at her hometown honky-tonk DanceMor Ballroom in Swisher, Iowa.

With new music out to the masses with hopefully more to come, fans will have the opportunity to catch her on tour as new dates continue to drop as we head into spring and on into summer.
