  HAILEY WHITTERS - High On A Heartbreak - Pigasus/Songs & Daughters/Big Loud

Fast-rising country songstress Hailey Whitters has revealed the forthcoming release date of her brand-new record, and coinciding with that announcement is the unveiling of a new track that showcases all of the elements of the Iowa native’s music that we have come to know and love in recent years.  “High On A Heartbreak” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Pigasus / Songs & Daughters / Big Loud.

Written by Whitters along with David Garcia, Hillary Lindsey and Jessie Jo Dillon, the song offers a fresh and unique perspective on a breakup, side-stepping the grief and pain for thoughts of embrace, acceptance, and emotional progression.

“I wanted to write the antithesis of a heartbreak song, one about a heartbreak feeling good vs. feeling bad – almost like a guilty pleasure,” Hailey said.  “This song feels like something you’d put on to get ready for a fun night on the town after a breakup.  It feels like owning the heartbreak rather than feeling sorry for yourself.”

Headlined by clever wordplay and evocative storytelling crooned beautifully by Hailey’s trademark vocal delivery, “High On A Heartbreak” is a breakup song we have all been waiting for in country music.  Acknowledging the heartache and enduring the emotional wounds while also choosing to move on and embrace a new relationship reality, this is a song that speaks directly to the hearts and minds of its listeners from start to finish.

“I’ve been bottling it up

But now the bottom of the bottle’s got me up on this neon moon

I got a miss you kind of rush

Gonna let your memory roll over me, just like your hands used to do

I know you might think I’m low

But baby, I’m high

High on a heartbreak tonight”

Tip-toeing the line between classic and modern country with spontaneously-featured splashes of indie bluegrass, “High On A Heartbreak” serves as the picturesque anthem for what we know, and love and expect from a woman who is poised to continue her climb on the ranks of the brightest young stars in the genre.

Following previously released tunes “Prodigal Daughter” featuring Molly Tuttle as well as “Casseroles,” “High On A Heartbreak” will also be featured on Hailey’s new album, ‘Corn Queen’, due out on June 6th

“Fans started calling me the ‘Corn Queen’ because I’m from Iowa,” Whitters explained. “Corn is this simple, humble crop, and ‘queen’ implies royalty passed down through blood. I come from a long line of blue-collar farmers and construction workers. I’ve been out here for over a decade brushing my teeth in truck stop bathrooms, sleeping on hotel floors, driving myself from gig to gig. It’s not glamorous, but I’m proud of it. I like the idea of a queen with little grit and elbow grease.”

“Casseroles” marked Whitters’ first song release since her critically-acclaimed 2023 EP, ‘I’m In Love,’ which received raves from fans and critics aplenty. That same year, Whitters was nominated for New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards and took home the ACM Award for New Female Artist of the Year.

‘Corn Queen’ will feature 16 tracks in all, with Hailey serving as a co-writer all but two of the tracks.  To accompany the release, Whitters will be on the road playing festivals, fairs and headline gigs across the country, with more to be announced soon.
