JOE NICHOLS
"Good Day For Living"
Quartz Hill Records
The latest release from country music hit-maker Joe Nichols, “Good Day For Living”, is a feel-good anthem about celebrating life’s simple pleasures and appreciating the little lights in a sometimes seemingly dark world. It’s a catchy, up-beat track that will have us all tapping toes and humming along upon the first listen.
The song is right in Nichols’ wheelhouse – simple, relatable, down-to earth lyrics along a steady drum beat and a gentle-riff melodic chorus. And above all, the element that separates it from a lot of the tunes released recently – is it’s an honest yet optimistic look at the world we live in, free from judgment and negativity…it’s a song of appreciation and admiration for…well, life.
“Livin’ it up
Livin’ it right
Livin’ each day one day at a time
Ain’t makin’ no worry no bigger than it is, when it isn’t
Yeah I’m thinkin’
I wanna wake up and do it for the love
Glass half full, wanna fill the rest up
Gonna take a sweep sip of whatever life’s fixin’
It’s a good day
Good day for livin’”
This song is the latest offering (and title track) from Joe’s highly anticipated 10th studio album. The new record is set for release on February 11th, featuring 13 tracks, including “I Got Friends That Do” (with Blake Shelton) as well as a rendition of “Hawaii On Me,” originally done by Chris Janson. Serving as his first release on Quartz Hill Records, the set also features previous releases “I Wanna Be Your Tonight”, “Screened In”, and “Home Run”.
Accompanying the single and album releases is the announcement of Nichols’ “Good Day For Living” Tour, as-of-now scheduled to hit 26 cities throughout the year, with more to be added in the coming months.
