The CCB Nashville label has one of the strongest rosters of emerging talent right now, and it’s the diversity between each artist that not only sets the label on a different level, but helps the artist stand out uniquely on their own.

With their #NewMusicFridays initiative since the start of 2022, music lovers have been gifted the opportunity to hear very strong releases week in and week out – And this week is no different.

Just as in the month of January when she released “All-American Family Band,” fiddle extraordinaire Megan Mullins Owen leads the way with the first release from the CCB Nashville label in February with “The Good Is Gettin’ Better.”

The walk of the keys smashes into a rippin’ guitar lick and killer fiddle playing through the intro of the song as the three instruments combine with the rhythm section to perfectly gel together and pull you into a western swing styled sound that instantly brings you to the dancefloor and gets your boot heels clicking.

Mullins Owen then uses the depth of her vocal and lower register of her voice to hit you with the right amounts of twang to snap you through a lyric that praises her better half while she stands in awe of how well things are going between them, singing:

Goodness gracious baby

I’m amazed at how you always seem to do it right

It was just last week when I came home so late

You rubbed my worn-out feet all night.”

Of course, as good as things are already going, they just seem to keep getting better as the title of the song suggests and she belts out in the hook of the chorus.

She makes a confession in the second verse of how when they first started out a kiss was just a kiss, but now one touch has become not nearly enough as they are passionately falling deeper into one another; an attitude she continues throughout the remainder of the song as she sings of walking on sunshine, feeling like she’s on cloud 9, and realizing how sweet what they have is, but then elevating the entire dynamic in the closing moments when she drops in the one-time line, “I could see forever.”

Megan Mullins Owen is no stranger to the country music fan. Her past solo releases helped establish her as an artist, while her fiddle playing over the years alongside the best of the best has continually impressed live audiences. However, with each new song that we are hearing from her, we see a different side being explored to give her all-around signature sound that can’t be placed in a box and stands uniquely in its own in category that can best be described as: Megan Mullins Owen.
