Baskin, Louisiana native Lainey Wilson is quickly making a name for herself in country music.  Her album ‘Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’ features the attention-demanding tracks “Dirty Looks” and “Things a Man Oughta Know”, and she has been recognized as rising star by the likes of Apple Music, iHeartRadio, Spotify, and CMT.

Wilson’s “Pipe” is an ode to the country way of life.  Have songs like this been put out before?  Of course it has…but Wilson knows how to sell it.  Her voice is strong and she holds back on this tune in sports, but unveils the power at the key moments.

The track features an irresistibly catchy melody alongside sing-along lyrics about honesty and candor.

“And if you gotta drawl you best just own it

So put a little y’all in your pipe and smoke it”

In a time of country music when it seems many of the female artists are edging with pop and even R&B, Lainey Wilson refreshingly brings the listener back to the southern belle turned no-nonsense damsel.  “Pipe” is a no doubt hit, and one of many we will be hearing from this songstress in the near future.
