When we first heard from Kimo Forrest and CCB Nashville that they would be releasing a new song from each of the artists on their label every Friday throughout 2022, our initial thought wasn’t only how ambitious a task that would be, but whether each artist would be able to sustain a high level with so many releases coming from them.

We’re now about halfway into their bold #newmusicfriday initiative, and we’ve learned that perhaps there is a healthy challenge going on with every artist that sees them internally challenging themselves to raise the bar each time out with their material.

Take for example the new single from Cash Creek, “I Love My Life.”

We’ve already heard some very solid songs from these guys this year including the heart-tugging “January,” the reassuring “My Heart’s Goin’ Nowhere,” and an incredible cover version of Maggie Rose’s “It’s You,” but with precise timing combined with its light, float on the breeze catchiness, Cash Creek delivers a contender for song of the summer with “I Love My Life.”

The overall vibe of the instrumentation and the feel-good melody pulls you into a song which is distinctively built for the warmer weather months, but lyrically, it departs from the typically predictable idea of sunshine and ocean breezes to give us, instead, a love song about how meeting the right one alters your entire life for the better.

While the opening verse and chorus both speak directly to the way that she’s changed his life and has become the center of his world ever since, the second verse adds depth as every guy has experienced the moments that Forrest sings about when he’s hanging out with the guys after she’s come into his life and they’re recognizing that he’s changed.

Cash Creek has really walked along many different lines with their single releases this year, but this one hits in a really fun and different kind of way, making it easily one of my personal favorites from them so far. It’s ultra-catchy, vibey, and Kimo Forrest’s vocal is perfectly suited for these types of lyrics, while also being such a relatable song that the listener can’t help but connect with it; especially those who are currently falling in love, or if you’re just looking back to when you and your better half first did.
