As we move deeper into 2022, and CCB Nashville’s #newmusicfriday initiative continues to give us great songs week in and week out from their talented artist roster, the warmer weather months that are now upon us will bring with them a smattering of summer tilted songs that inundate the airwaves.

That said, it makes perfect sense that the first of these types of songs from the CCB Nashville artist roster comes from RT Johnson.

Johnson, who’s already delivered summertime smashes “Thirsty Weather” and “Summertime Hangover,” turns up the country boy charm that we heard shining through “Daylight Southern Time” and “You Can’t Go Wrong” to deliver a song that encapsulates every signature layer as to who he is as an artist on his newest release, “Hillbilly Redneck Southern Rebel Country Club.”

With a refreshing, modern kissed 90’s tilt to its style and sound, Johnson immediately takes us right to the lake with him during the opening verse as he sets the Friday night tone and signals that there’s about the be a big time, country party when he mentions that his pickup truck is filled with a cooler and a keg and that you can expect there to be four wheeling, skinny dipping, mud boggin’, and an all-around hell of a good time.

Johnson continues painting the perfect descriptive pictures of what exactly it means, and what can be expected, when you become a member of the Hillbilly Redneck Southern Rebel Country Club (Or shortened; HRSRCC):

We’re a social society, Lynyrd Skynyrd wannabees.”

“Got girls in cutoff Daisy Duke jeans.”

“We get a little rowdy, crazy, and wild, when we can’t find Hank on the radio dial.”

As the boot heel clickin’ rhythm and the shredding of the guitars through the bridge wraps around Johnson’s cleanly delivered vocal, you’ll easily find that you’re wanting to drag yourself out the nearest dance hall floor at your local honky-tonk for spin or two on the hardwood.

However, and most importantly, Johnson’s undeniable way of painting pictures through his lyrics and stark delivery also boldly act as your open invite to become a member of the HRSRCC, leaving only one question remaining by the time the song’s final notes are played: Are you ready to join?
