With summer now in full swing, it is prime time for pool parties, road trips, and outside endeavors.  It is also time for the some of the more carefree and entertaining releases from country music’s biggest stars.  Enter Lady A, with their brand-new single, “Summer State Of Mind”, an ode to the weather and the people who put our minds and lives at ease.

You put the blue back up in my sky

I’m the beach

You’re the breeze

Yeah, you put me in my summer state of mind

Debuted during CMA Music Festival at Nissan Stadium in Nashville last month, the song is a self-proclaimed perfect way to kick off the summer and should carry that momentum over the coming months for the award-winning trio.

Written by Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood along with Laura Veltz and Sam Ellis, the song references Yeti coolers, Ray-Bans, tiki bars, and everything in between that paint the portrait of fun-loving summer adventures.

The element of their music catalogue that is so compelling is its ability to appeal to reach a wide range of people covering a multiple of topics and feelings.  “Summer State Of Mind” is a fun, light-hearted party song, sure.  But it’s also a tune of appreciation of that one person who represents summer in times of cold and winter.  You can dig as deep into the psychology of this song as you’d like, or you can simply enjoy the irresistibly catchy melody and easy, sing-along lyrics while bobbing your head and tapping your toes.  Either way, it’s set to be another popular addition to Lady’s ever-growing, award-winning catalogue.

Lady A are staying busy this summer, playing dozens of shows across the country on their ‘Request Line’ tour from now through the end of October.
