With the singles released from their fourth studio album, the RIAA platinum Good Things, country superstar duo Dan + Shay continued to make major impact at country radio with “Glad You Exist,” “I Should Probably Go to Bed,” “Steal My Love,” and “10,000 Hours.”

They’re now setting out to make another tremendous impact at radio with their new single, “You.”

Whereas most every other artist is putting out their summertime anthems right now, Dan + Shay swerve away from that typical pattern to listen to the requests from their fans instead and release the song that is being dubbed as “the wedding song of 2022.”

Built around a subtle, church like piano as its prominent instrument, the softer tempo groove leaves all the space for the duo’s signature harmonies to soar over the pop infused backbeat and hook you into the song.

Lyrically, they paint perfect pictures through very descriptive lines that praise the one amazing person who comes into your life and changes everything for the better, beginning in the opening verse as they set the first dance tone:

Baby, standin' here with you

With your arms around my shoulders

We're dancin' with the moon

And baby, it feels just like a dream

As the song slides into the chorus, the lyrics shift to speak directly to all the ways that his life is better because of her as he sings about having her in his life during the sunshine of Sunday morning or when its pouring rain outside, admitting that even if everything else goes wrong, he’s got her so it’s all 100 % right.

The soulful R&B kissed modern country feel of the song lends itself perfectly to blurring several different genre lines as Dan + Shay inject the song with their undeniably pop infused signature right down the middle of the variety of styles meshing.

By listening to their fans and delivering a song unlike everything else at radio right now, while also hitting on the universal feeling of good love, Dan + Shay have positioned themselves to strike quickly as this song heads to radio, and most likely see it race up the charts to notch them their next smash hit.
