The James Barker Band is on one heck of a run that has not only garnered them a tremendous amount of buzz, but it has also earned them status as one of Canadian country’s hottest rising acts.

“Over All Over Again,” “Beer Me,” Wastin’ Whiskey,” and “New Old Trucks,” their latest single that featured country superstar Dierks Bentley, have all played a part in working together with their tremendous catalog to amass 230 million global streams, four #1 singles, and multiple Gold and Platinum certified tracks.

They now return with their brand-new single “Rain All Summer.”

Grey skies, blue eyes, California red wine lips on mine,” opens the song with the very crisp, picture painting lyrics that are commonplace throughout the songs entirety, but more importantly, the sexy titled tone is immediately set and draws in the happily in love listener.

In many ways this does follow suit to match the summery lyrics that are all over country radio right now in that they do mention the things that are commonly associated with the warmer weather months, but this is anything but your typical summer fare as it’s focus is on its steamy vibe and spending a rainy, sun showery day in bed with the woman you love.

While the opening verse paints the picture, the chorus and second verse turn the heat way up. It’s sung through the chorus about being all over each other between the sheets as its storming outside and hoping that it never lets up so they can stay right where they’re at, while the second verse gets more suggestive as he tells her to forget about the beach and her two-piece bathing suit that’s in the drawer, and to leave her sundress right there on the floor where it’s already at.

It’s been a bit since country radio has featured an ultra-sexy song like this one, which makes it so refreshing to hear as it recalls the very well-received late mid-2000’s era of country, but never loses touch with today’s current sound.

The recent history of the band tells us that it’s a very safe bet that “Rain All Summer” will notch another hit for the James Barker Band, and with the promise of releasing more new music throughout the remainder of the year, one of Canada’s hottest rising acts is primed to become the next big thing by the end of the year.
