Adam Doleac has certainly been delivering on the artist to watch tag that he’s been labeled with over the past few years. Both “Whiskey’s Fine” and “Famous” garnered attention at SiriusXM’s The Highway, but this past year has really seen him surge into prominence on the back of strong song releases such as “Somewhere Cool With You” and the ultra-catch “Drinkin’ It Wrong.”

Doleac recently shared exciting news with his fans when he announced that his debut album Barstool Whiskey Wonderland would be releasing on September 30, 2022, and to celebrate the monumental occasion, he further teased the upcoming album with a new song, “Girl In Love.”

The song, co-written by Adam Doleac, Jared Keim and Derrick Southerland, has already received tremendous fan response on his social media platforms, but also intriguingly unveils a bit of a different layer then we’ve heard from his previous few releases.

Leaning into his more adult contemporary side, Doleac relies on piano as the prominent instrument to pull you into the bluesy touched softer country feel of the song, instantly injecting it with a subtle sexiness as his unmistakable vocal slides in to carry you through lyrics that spell out exactly how you know when a girl is in love with you, singing lines in each of the verses such as:

You’re never gonna have to wonder what she’s thinking, ‘cause she can tell you everything with those eyes.

She ain’t gonna say it ‘til she knows she means it, ‘cause those aren’t words she throws around.”

He continues to reveal different signs to look for in the chorus, using some cleverly comparative lines that hit on the emotional butterflies that you’ll be feeling:

“‘Cause she’s gonna fall like the rain on a Sunday

She’s gonna melt just like sugar in your hands

She’s gonna close her eyes and kiss you like a shot of whiskey does

No, there ain’t nothing like a girl in love

Though most of this song is focused on what the guy in love needs to be looking for from his better half to know that she’s feeling the same way, Doleac also adds an additional depth when he offers the guy a piece of advice for once he starts to see all these signs from her: “You better be ready to catch her when she lets you lay her down!”

To answer the fans response when choosing what song to release is always a very smart move. In the case of Doleac, it will help bring additional hype to his much-anticipated album by enticing his solid fan base to blitz social media alongside him in their efforts to help him reach a new audience and grow his fan base. However, on that note, even though the song is being released as a teaser for the album in response to his fans, I also suspect that he will be earning new ones as this will easily find substantial airplay on The Highway as well!
