Though Priscilla Block’s only recently released her debut full-length album Welcome to the Block Party, and her most current single “My Bar” is still making impact on the country radio charts, we’re already getting some brand-new music from one of country music’s hottest breakout stars of 2022 with “Off The Deep End.”

You can find me at the bar, shuttin’ down Broadway,” Block sings as the ultra-catchy song opens and slaps the listener with a drum beat and scream along gang-styled vocal that immediately drives you to clap with the insatiable melody as you sing along while easily picturing a crowd in front of the stage at her shows doing the same.

Finding heartbreak healing inside a bar has become commonplace for Block, but she does it so well by pulling straight from her own life to inject an honesty within the party goer anthems that she brings to the table.

Admitting initially in the opening verse that she first took a little time for a pity party after being broken up with, she then quickly revealed how it’s pretty boring to stay home all cooped up when you’re the outgoing, go to a bar type of person…which is exactly where she ends up instead because as she says, everything’s better on a dance floor!

The irresistible sway of the rhythm perfectly matches the having fun getting over you lyric as Block takes us straight into the local dive with her, singing of how it’s the type of joint where your feet stick to the floor, Busch Light is the beer of choice, you make new friends over spirited games of darts and pool, etc.

The namecheck when she sings of shutting down Broadway adds a flavor for us local Nashvillians to grab hold of, while also resonating with her rowdier, twenty-something fans as she paints the perfect picture of livin’ it up on Nashville’s most famous street.

Since hitting the charts with “Just About Over You,” Priscilla Block has been one of country’s music most fun success stories to follow over the past year. She’s continually attracted new fans with every tour stop and each new song she’s released, and with the built-in live audience participation moments that leap out the speakers during “Off The Deep End,” it’s safe to say that the phenomenal success story is fixin’ to continue for Priscilla Block.
