One of the long-time country music stereotypes is the tale of a talented small-town singer-songwriter making the move to Nashville and achieving success.  And while that notion doesn’t necessarily ring true in most cases, there are those fresh young faces on the music scene that have undeniable success to make waves in Music City.

And now we are introduced to Dariann Leigh, a talented young starlet from Karlstad, MN with the potential to make a name for herself in the country music scene. 

Her single, “Jackson”, is a tune about small town dreaming and childhood reflection.  And while not all of us have necessarily come from small towns, we all have those memories of what it was like to dream big and then, years later, look back on those dreams – how they’ve changed or maybe how they’ve stayed the same.

The song uses imagery, symbolism, and unapologetic honesty to share stories, emotions, and feelings about life and dreams as only country music can do. 

As Leigh describes, “Jackson isn’t a place for me, it’s a state of mind.  The dreams that make you push for more, and the strength to know how to get there.”

“Jackson” is wonderfully crafted and will be appreciated by songwriters and critics alike, but her vocal delivery will garner immediate attention from anyone who hears this song upon first listen.  Her ability to capture the mood and vibe of the subject matter is undeniable, and her sultry, somber, and invigorating vocal prowess keeps the listener wanting more. 

The ability to draw emotions out of the listener strictly by the tone of your voice is incredibly rare, and when you feel it, you know it.  Leigh has the voice to invoke those sentiments and reactions, and it is something that should not be understated or underappreciated. 

Prior to “Jackson”, Dariann has achieved underground success with previous singles “Closer”, “Let Me Go”, “10,000 Miles”, and “Leave”.  Having been featured on the likes of The Boot, Country Rebel, and CMT, we are sure to hear much more from this talented songstress in the near future…and we can’t wait!
