Due to outrageously high demand from fans in his native Australia as well as across the world, Morgan Evans has released his latest single, “Over For You”, via Warner Music Nashville.

The song, written during a self-proclaimed difficult time in Morgan’s life, tells the story of a relationship’s end form the perspective of a broken heart.  It is deeply personal and unapologetically vulnerable, intertwining feelings of grief and sadness, anger and frustration, as well as confusion.

“I would’ve let go if you wanted me to

How many times did you say you loved me

When it wasn’t true?

I’m just wondering

How long as it been over for you?”

Of course, the tune is beautifully crafted and Evans’ vocals are raw and emotionally delivered.  The piano-driven track sets the perfect mood for a somber, emotionally exposed admission.  And while the song, itself, is deeply personal to the songwriter, its subject and message is sincerely relatable.

Co-written by Evans, he originally debuted “Over For You” at CMC Rocks QLD Festival in front of over 25,000 fans.  Immediate praise followed, and the longing and demanding for the song to be released ensued.  “Over For You – Live In Melbourne” was recorded and released earlier this month, and now the studio version has been made available everywhere today and is immediately impacting country radio.

“I recorded this vocal on the same day we wrote the song”, Evans said.  “It was a difficult time in my life and writing this helped me process a lot of what I was going through.”

Sometimes, as fans and critics, we forget that the musicians and singers aren’t just writing and singing stories that they create.  A lot of the material found in their catalogues originates from real life.  They, like everyone else, go through real life and all of the ups and downs, trials and tribulations, and the ability of a gifted songwriter like Morgan Evans is even more appreciated when a heart wrenching, tear-jerking, beautifully somber is released, furthering reminding us of the power of music and the influence it can have on its listeners.
