Russell Dickerson released his third album on November 4^th, and following the success of the project’s lead single, “She Likes It”, he has offered “God Gave Me A Girl”, available now on all streaming platforms and officially released to country radio.

Penned by Dickerson along with Ashley Gorley, Richard McGill and Zach Crowell, the song tells the tale of someone who couldn’t care less about falling in love…until he did, and it changed his life.  This is not only a love song, but it’s a nostalgic, self-reflection and realization about not knowing what was missing from your life until you have something suddenly that you know you can’t live without.

“She gave me her hand

I gave her a ring

Then as soon as I could

I gave her my last name

Now I’m gonna give her forever

I knew what I wanted but He knew better

God gave me a girl”

The lyrics are clever and the Dickerson’s delivery is perfectly on point, with the musical vibe capturing the mood of the subject matter.  This is an unapologetic ode to believing in a higher power and having faith in things happening for a reason.  It’s an appreciation of the girl he never knew he always needed, while also understanding that God is the reason behind all things.  This will touch the hearts of the listener from an emotional standpoint while also having the song put on repeat due to its creative nature and catchy (albeit somewhat subdued), sing-along vibe.

Having co-written all 15 tracks while also co-producing the album, Dickerson is proving to be a widely diverse artist, singer, and overall industry talent with every release.  With a self-titled new album making waves on the radio and streaming platforms, and tour dates continuing to be announced, 2023 is looking like it will be Russell’s biggest year to date.
