EMMA SVENSSON
"Runs in the Family"
Independent Release
Released on Friday, January 13, Emma Svenson’s “Runs In The Family” is a self-proclaimed description of a childhood memory that she hopes to continue for the next generation.
The Swedish singer-songwriter, at just 19 years old, made the bold decision to pack her things and move to the heart of country music, Nashville, TN in hopes of achieving her musical dreams. As is the case with nearly every aspiring country music star, the road has been bumpy, full of trials and triumphs along the way.
But as the traditional tale tells us, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. Emma is a talented songwriter and a gifted singer, and her new single displays her ability to take the thoughts and feelings in her mind and turn them into a catchy yet sentimental country music song.
As she describes, “Runs In The Family” tells the story of a trip she and her family would commonly take to the mountains and how she hopes to do the same with her future children, continuing a tradition that meant to much to her growing up. The inspiration behind the song, aside from the specific content, was to profess her appreciation to those closest to her – family and friends.
As is the case with a lot of aspiring musicians, it takes a village to achieve this dream. The overwhelming support from family and friends does not go unnoticed from those trying to “make it” in the music industry, and Emma has admitted that the next chapter of her music career is to acknowledge that appreciation and admiration for all of the support she has had over these years.
During the course of her abbreviated but eventual music career, Svenson has endured many challenges but has used those struggles and trials and turned them into positives and motivating factors to keep pushing forward. Her songwriting is solid, her easy-listening vocals are delightful, and with the tenacity and grit needed to succeed in this business, we can expect and look forward to hearing more from this talented singer-songwriter in the future.
