INGRID ANDRESS
"Feel Like This"
Warner Music Nashville
Warner Nashville’s Ingrid Andress is back with a new song made available everywhere now, “Feel Like This”.
Put simply, this tune tells the tale of finding true love after leaving a turbulent relationship. While a relationship that turns toxic can be unapologetically damaging to the people involved, finding true love with the person you are supposed to be with can be that much more rewarding and satisfying.
“Feels Like This” touches on manipulation, jealousy, and other feelings and emotions that can be detrimental to a relationship, but it also transgresses to moments of reflection and courage, moving on from a negative situation to a positive situation.
Alternating moods midway through the track, from unhealthy to healthy, Ingrid closes the latter half of the song with a depiction of a happy relationship between two people who are worth of one another. The narration goes one step further, coming to the realization that what she had experienced before was not true love, and what she is experiencing now is true love.
“I thought I knew what
I knew what love was
Guess I didn’t know at all
‘Cause I don’t know what this is
But I think love’s supposed to feel like this”
Ingrid’s voice is on-point, effortlessly and poignantly capturing the appropriate mood and vibe of the song’s subject matter, alternating between somber moments and elements of relief and joy.
Written by Andress along with Julia Michaels and Sam Ellis, this is an undeniably relatable tune for nearly every listener, for most (if not all) of us have endured an unbridled relationship and experienced the feelings have left such a situation behind us.
“Feel Like This” follows “Wishful Drinking”, Ingrid’s collaboration with Sam Hunt, which was the first new music from her since the Grammy-nominated album, ‘Lady Like’. “Wishful Drinking” has garnered over 130 million global streams, with Ingrid being a special guest on Keith Urban’s 52-date North American leg of his world tour.
