Known for his passion of the outdoors as he shows on Hoge Wild, his incredibly popular “Sunday Sessions,” his energetic live shows, and songs such as “Get Lost,” “Dirty South,” and “If Only I Could,” Lucas Hoge is certainly no stranger to country music fans.

But even with an already packed schedule, Hoge shows no signs of slowing down as he kicks off 2023 with his brand-new single, “Nowhere.”

Co-written by Preston and Chris of LOCASH, Drew Baldridge, and Jason Massey, the production borrows a 2010’s era influence to give the song a distinctive throwback feel, but it also cleverly keeps one foot firmly planted on the here and now to inject it with a fresh, modern era vibe.

Surrounded by an irresistible melody that will immediately get the listener tapping toes and shaking hips, Hoge’s voice drips with reassuring, country boy charm as he punches through the spitfire lyrics that sing (presumably to his better half) of knowing the exact place to go to soothe your soul, get out of your day-to-day rut, and reset yourself back to the basics.

Initially lamenting that the downtown lights don’t allow you to see the stars shining in the sky and that the city congestion won’t allow you to feel the wind in your hair, Hoge then quickly shifts the lyrics into painting vivid pictures of the middle of “nowhere” spot where they can temporarily get lost from the mundane.

He takes us along for the ride as he perfectly describes his nowhere as the type of place where just past the welcome sign love grows thick, country songs are lit, there’s no closing time or last call, and the most perfect place to park is in the field at the end of a dirt road where they can drink tequila in the bed of his Chevy truck.

The nifty guitar lick that pulls out of the opening chorus and into the second verse perks your ears, while its rock kissed shredding through the bridge is bold and perfectly echoes the “come on let’s go” emergency of the lyrics.

However, not one to miss a golden opportunity to make a song a perfect addition to his setlists, the instrumentation drop-off into the final chorus captures an instant audience participation moment that has you envisioning his crowds clapping and singing along with him.

With so much already on his stacked resume, this surefire radio smash is absolutely going to garner the same type of attention he received when he hit #1 on Billboard. Couple that kind of hype with an upcoming road trek alongside Chapel Heart on their ‘Glory Days tour’, and 2023 is shaping up to be a monumental year for the country music veteran.
