Country music superstar and multi-platinum selling artist Cole Swindell enjoyed the best year of his career in 2022.  From sold out concerts across the country to spending time at the top of the charts, last year was the biggest one to date for the Georgia native, and now he is ready to take his stardom and achievements to the next level with his first release of 2023, “Drinkaby”.

Written by Jon Pardi, Jordan Schmidt, HARDY and Hunter Phelps, the new tune is described by Swindell as a “fun breakup song”, and one that will immediately imbed itself into the listener’s ears.  The undeniably catchy guitar hook captivates you at the onset and is relentless throughout the duration of the sing-along track.  And despite the sad content material detailing the end of a relationship, it’s a feel-good track musically, complete with catchy rhythms and melodies.

“Bye, my baby’s long gone

Sadder than a steel in a country song

Raise your glasses to the rafters and help me sing along tonight

To my drinkaby”

Of course, Swindell first made his mark on the country music industry as a songwriter, penning tunes for some of the biggest in the genre and achieving high praise by critics, media, and artists alike.  As his career as a recording artist and performer has surged, he has had the opportunity to use his experience as a songwriter to identify songs he feels passionate about that articulate what he wants to convey to his fan base.

His trademark vocal delivery resonates with fans on every release, and his latest is no different.  An upbeat, head-bobbing, toe-tapping song about a breakup may seem unorthodox for some, but in this case, it works to perfection.

“Drinkaby” is one of three new tracks to be included on his upcoming ‘Stereotype Broken’ deluxe album, available everywhere on April 28th.  It promises to continue a strong path of releases for the singer-songwriter, who is on fire with an impressive stretch of three consecutive platinum-certified, multi-week No. 1 tunes:  “Never Say Never” featuring Lainey Wilson, “Single Saturday Night”, and “She Had Me At Heads Carolina”.

Following a series of appearances at some of the biggest music festivals in the country, Cole will hit the road as a special guest on Thomas Rhett’s Home Team Tour in the summer of 2023, which will also feature opener Nate Smith.
