Independent country music artist Matthew Wayne has been writing, singing, and performing his way through the underground ranks and gaining valuable experience and worthy credibility as a fresh young talent on the music scene.  Since May 2022, he has six singles and tallied half a million streams across platforms.

Showing no signs of slowing down in early 2023, Wayne has released his latest, “Reckless,” available across all platforms and streaming services now.

As is the case with the rest of his music, “Reckless” centers around a premise that is utterly relatable for most listeners.  At some point in our lives, we have all made questionable choices and decisions that, looking back on, we probably wish we hadn’t.  In Matthew’s case, it was calling an ex after having a few drinks.

Despite what the subject matter may suggest, this is not a ballad.  In fact, it’s a toe-tapping, head-bopping, somewhat raucous anthem that will have listeners up and out of their seats enjoying the upbeat catchy beats, melodies and riffs.

Written by Johnny Gates, Mason Thornley, and Tyler Thompson, “Reckless” was a song that Matthew knew he had to record as soon as he heard it…and no wonder.  The most complimentary elements of pop, rock, and country are on the forefront throughout, and Wayne’s strong, rugged vocal delivery perfectly capture the mood, emotion, and vibe of the musical accompaniment.

Truly born to be a musician, Matthew Wayne has fully immersed himself in music since he was very young.  In addition to singing and writing, he has mastered the drums, piano, guitar and bass.  With that instrumental education comes a further knowledge and appreciation for music as a whole, and Matthew continues to hone his craft while earning the respect of fellow artists, critics, and media alike.

For now, though, let’s just sit back and listen to this fun, catchy, party anthem known as “Reckless”.
