HAYDEN COFFMAN
FT. CHASE MATTHEW
"Our Kind"
Independent Release
Knoxville, TN native Hayden Coffman has released his latest single, “Our Kind”, featuring Warner Music Nashville’s Chase Matthew.
This is not the first collaboration between Coffman and Matthew, as the pair teamed up on Chase’s song “Raised In The Hollar” from his ‘Born For This’ album.
“Our Kind” is a redneck anthem, an ode to the “country boy” way of life. And while this is certainly not ground-breaking subject material for country music, it is a fun song to listen to and something we’ve come to expect from these two as individual artists as well as contributing collaborators.
The lyrics are honest, down-to-earth, and “homegrown”, and the vocal delivery through the trademark twang the listener would expect set the tone and vibe perfectly. Coffman has found his niche within the confines of modern country music. It’s the throwback natured story that reminds us all that, even in today’s modern world, the down-home country-boy way of life still exists.
“Like sippin’ on some whiskey swishin’ in your Dixie cup
And circled up trucks by a fire
And if you got some dirt roads back home
And your twang sounds a little like mine
You’re one of our kind”
The tune represents the second notable collaboration for Coffman, who released “Give A Country Boy A Call” in September 2022 with Trey Lewis. As with a lot of modern-day artists, Hayden garnered much well-deserved attention on social media, with over 100,000 followers on TikTok while rocketing up the iTunes charts to No. 4 as an independent artist. In 2022, he was one of the fastest growing unsigned country artists in the nation, and his singles have amassed more than 40 million streams while his Youtube videos have surpassed 18 million total views.
Matthew is off to a red-hot start of his own, with his major label debut, “She Loves Jesus”, grabbing the attention of the industry upon its release while his hit song “County Line” amassed over 150 million global streams. He embarked on his “Love You Again Tour” in January to acclaim by fans across the country.
