Bluefield, West Virginia native Makenzie Phipps has released her latest single, “A Little Of Both”, which is a self-proclaimed tribute to her real-life story.

The young talented singer-songwriter has been traveling back and forth from her hometown to Music City as she continues to work on her career as an aspiring country artist, but as she works on the balance between personal and professional goals, her latest tune sets the precedent for how she is living her life.

Written by Vanessa Olivarez, Elizabeth Elkins and Sonia Leigh, “A Little Bit Of Both” is the story of the ability to find content and satisfaction when living in different worlds.  While highlighting the ups and downs associated with all of our lives at some point, the song cleverly uses opposites to illustrate the idea that we don’t always have to choose between one or the other…but rather, enjoy all that life has to offer.

This is a cleverly crafted tune with charmingly creative lyrics and sophisticated yet down to earth musical arrangements perfect for comfortable listening.

Makenzie’s vocals are beautiful on this track, effortlessly flowing through the verses and soaring into the chorus with the confidence of a seasoned star.  Her musical maturity continues to develop from release to release, and we can hear the natural gifts shine through in all the right moments.

Phipps is on the fast track to country music success, demanding the attention of the industry for her undeniable talent.  Most recently, she recovered a video cover of Alan Jackson’s “I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You”, which has tallied over 1.6 million views.  From her other jaw-dropping covers of classics like “Amazing Grace” and “Travelin’ Solider” to her previous singles “Maybe”, “Drag”, and now “A Little Of Both”, she continues to build her musical catalogue while also garnering a reputation as a bright young talent on the scene.
