While there isn’t a specific blueprint for a young artist to follow for a surefire way of hyping their upcoming project, one should probably grab their pen and notebook and start pinpointing exactly what Gloria Anderson has been doing in 2023.

The 22-year-old singer/songwriter has expertly used the first part of the year to introduce her newest music, tease her forthcoming debut EP, and showcase the perfect blending of her styles and influences, pushing together a bluegrass flare with Appalachian inspired sounds to create a vibe that spotlights her incredibly gifted lyric writing ability and strong vocal prowess that captures the pure, raw emotion of each line.

She continues to tease her Households EP by surprising her growing fanbase with the release of its title track, a song co-written by Anderson, with Marci Coleman and Kyle Pruzina (aka folk/pop duo Suitcase Souls, who are featured on the song).

Anderson has already shown us a tremendous knack for painting vivid pictures through her lyrics, and she does it again as she invites us into her childhood home, which is now for sale, reminiscing from her perspective of today on all the small details that matter the most about it.

The folk infused singer/songwriter style encapsulates Gloria’s voice through the verses as she vividly shares lines such as:

“The wall full of crosses in the dining room, they’ve heard every argument we got into”

“These pencil lines hiding on an old door frame, they could tell you how tall I was when I turned eight”

With an Americana branding infused into a chorus that sees her reminding us that the laughing, living, and stories of the past mean so much more than the physical bricks and mortar, she then introduces the cry of the fiddle through the bridge to add the perfect touch that ties together all the sonic elements while allowing her expert tones to stand tall as she fondly remembers her first kiss outside the front door, her first steps on the kitchen floor, etc.

Gloria Anderson has very deliberately planned each song release so that they continually hype her debut EP, and so that they also create an aura from her many different influences coming together into one blast that fully encompasses exactly who she is as a singer/songwriter.

The official HOUSEHOLDS EP release party will take place at 7PM CST on Thursday March 23, 2023 at the Mockingbird Theater in Franklin, TN.
