Country music superstar Kane Brown has released his latest single, “Bury Me In Georgia”.  The tune, the first track of his 2022 album ‘Different Man’, is available on all streaming platforms now via RCA Records Nashville.

Co-written by Brown along with Josh Hoge, Matthew McGinn and Jordan Schmidt, the song is a two-fold topic that continues to show his musical flexibility and unpredictability.  This record is one of the more diverse releases of the past year, offering something for everyone, including fans of 90’s music to the modern blurred lines of pop country, and everything in between.

“Bury Me In Georgia” is an ode and a salute to his hometown, but it is also a proclamation of wishes he has for his friends and family in the event of his death.  It may be an uncomfortable listen at first, but the song is, of course, well produced and cleverly crafted to imbed itself in the heads of fans after the song’s conclusion.  It has its necessary hooks and melodies to keep the listener engaged, and while the lyrics may seem a bit somber, if not dark, at times, it uses the guitar-heavy drive to keep the momentum building throughout the track.

“It’s where I was born

It’s where I was raised

Ain’t sayin’ I’m ready yet

But that’s the place

I wanna be

After my last breath”

The song may not end up being Kane’s biggest hit to date, but the variety with which he provides his listeners with from single to single is to be respected and appreciated.  He is building a musical catalogue that is worthy of that recognition of musical creativity and bravery, and it’s refreshing to hear a song with subject matter that catches us by surprise and falls outside the typical boundary lines of modern releases.

“Bury Me In Georgia” serves as a follow up to Brown’s smash hit, “Thank God”, featuring his wife, Katelyn.  His latest album, ‘Different Man’, was released in September 2022, which also featured the hit singles “One Mississippi”, “Like I Love Country Music”, and “Grand”.  Kane is headlining his Drunk Or Dreaming Tour, which will take him across the US through the spring and throughout the summer.
