CODY WEBB
"Girl Changes Everything"
Vere Music
Having been a fan-favorite for the past four years and been long overdue to be released to the country music masses, “Girl Changes Everything” is the latest single from Ridge Spring, SC native Cody Webb. The song is now available everywhere via Vere Music.
Co-written with Jason Matthews and Eric Varnell, Cody penned the tune after finding out his wife was pregnant, and, as he admits, “it kind of turned my world upside down”.
The song has been a hit amongst his fans, having been a regular part of his shows since 2019. Now, finally, it is getting its proper and official release, and the rest of the country music community is about to fall in love with it.
It’s a simple, stripped down view into a man’s heart as he prepares for life as he has never known it before. The song opens with Webb’s voice and an acoustic guitar before exploding into a musically emotional chorus, before picking up the beat and melody throughout the second verse and throughout the conclusion of the song.
It’s a “real-life” account of how things change, with down-to-earth, relatable lyrics flowing straight from the heart of a new dad. Webb is wearing his heart on his sleeve as he belts out lyrics that will be etched in listeners’ heads.
“Guy’s got his whole life figured out
Planning on having no plans right now
Can’t see past this Saturday night
Pretty sure he’s pouring up the time of his life
But no, he don’t know what’s comin’ next
No he ain’t seen nothin’ yet
Guy thinks he’s got the world on a string
Then girl changes everything”
“Girl Changes Everything” follows “Crazy On Me”, released earlier this year. With every release, Webb continues to garner more fans who cannot get enough of his crafty penmanship and guy-next-door persona. He’s an undeniably talented singer-songwriter and has amassed a solid musical following ever since the release of his debut album, ‘This One’s For You,’ in 2018.
“Jon Boat” put Cody on the larger country music map, having garnered millions of views, while singles including “She’s Carolina” and “Money Well Wasted” followed and built his reputation as one of the promising young artists on the underground country circuit today.
