Blytheville, Arkansas native Trent Tomlinson is back with a new single, and it perfectly personifies what we have loved about the singer/songwriter for well over a decade.

“If They Didn’t Make Whiskey” is a song of reminiscence and regret over past decision.  The track tells the tale of how alcohol has played its part in the poor decisions he has made in his life, and how he is still feeling the effects of those choices as time continues to pass.  And specifically, as is the case with most country songs, the story centers around a romantic interest and the regret and remorse we can all feel when we wrong the one we love.

“Maybe it wouldn’t be so damn hard

To forgive me

And forget how I did you wrong

God knows how much better off I’d be

If they didn’t make whiskey”

Raised in Kennett, Missoui, Tomlinson began his music career as a songwriter, having his tunes recorded by the likes of Emerson Drive and Blue County.  Soon thereafter, he released debut album, ‘Country Is My Rock’, which spawned the singles “Drunker Than Me”, “One Wing in the Fire”, and “Just Might Have Her Radio On”.  He has since had his songs recorded by the likes of Parmalee, Sara Evans, and George Strait.

Tomlinson’s new single is what we have liked about his music from the beginning - an open, truthful tune about real life alongside a nice beat and heavy hook.  It’s well written and sung with the right audacity to make this one a favorite for his fans as well as all country music fans.
