The follow-up to Kameron Marlowe’s debut radio single “Tequila Talkin’” is an autobiographical tale of overcoming heartbreak and resisting the temptation to revisit that person who caused the hurt.  “Giving You Up”, as Marlowe describes, is a personal one for him.

The inspiration for the song came from personal heartbreak.  Someone from a previous relationship called him, and despite his premonition and reservation, he answered the call.  When the conversation ended, he knew it was a mistake, and he immediately picked up his guitar and began penning the material for his debut single:

“Cause I’m giving you up, just like I did them Marlboro Lights

And I’m giving you up, the same way I did the whiskey on ice

And it’s all so tough you turn me into a man I don’t even recognize

I’m giving you up, the same way you did me out in the moonlight”

This song is not a rocker but it certainly isn’t a ballad.  The necessary hook is prevalent throughout, but the soulfulness of the lyrics and melody alike make this a track to remember.

Marlowe first hit the eyes and hears of the mainstream music world during his appearance on the 15th season of NBC’s “The Voice”.  Working with award-winning producer Brad hill as well as Jim Cooley, Kameron is putting his face on the map of fast-rising country singers with a bright future.
