MARYNN TAYLOR - i love you...remember - Black River Entertainment

Country starlet MaRynn Taylor has shown a few different looks on her song releases this year, whether it be her familiar girl next door charm on hot-rising single “Make You Mine” or her fun-loving side on the hip-popping “Shakin’ In My Boots.”

However, it’s been her vulnerability on “01,” and most recently “In My Head,” which has unveiled an intriguing new layer that’s caused listeners to stop in their tracks and turn an ear toward each word of raw honesty and complete transparency as she’s opened her diary and allowed a peek inside.

She now returns to that vulnerable side on her newest release, “i love you, remember,” a heartstring pulling track released in honor of her grandparents and all of those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Co-written by MaRynn, Emily Kroll and Jason Earley, the ballad’s soft pace expertly enhances the heaviness of the depth wrapped within the lyric and allows Taylor to utilize her voice to carry the multitude of experienced emotions, from heartbreak to finding peace in the understanding.

I walked in the front door, went in for a hug, I could see it in your eyes, you didn’t know who I was” immediately sets in motion the perspective of the tough disease that’s all too often overlooked; the affect that it has not only on the person suffering from the diagnoses, but how it affects those who are left to then learn to navigate the rapid changes of their loved ones capacity.

I never could imagine that it would hurt this much,” she cries out before spiraling through a box of fond memories of going to the ice cream shop and fishing together, while painstakingly lamenting that “the only thing that’s different is everything” as she slides into the chorus while holding tightly to heartfelt understanding as their memory continues to slip further away with each passing day:

“It’s okay, even if the memories fade

You don’t have to know your number

Or the people in your pictures

And I don’t mind

If you say the same things twice

I’ll take every second on this side of heaven

You don’t have to know if it’s June or December

Cause I love you, remember

This is a tough song to get through for the obvious reasons, but that’s exactly what makes country music such an endearing genre. The ability of a singer-songwriter to take something that’s so near and dear to their own heart and craft it in such a way that it reaches people through the speakers with a warm embrace becomes the connection success for a song of this magnitude; though we suspect this song will find chart success as well.
