KIMBERLY PERRY - God's Hometown - RECORDS Nashville

GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter Kimberly Perry released her solo debut EP ‘Bloom’ in June.  Headlined by the single “If I Die Young Pt. 2”, the set was followed by “Fool’s Gold”, a cautionary tale of the Jackson, MS native’s exploration into pop music and the Hollywood scene before ultimately returning to country music.

Perry is now taking the next step in her solo career with, “God’s Hometown,” the focus track of ‘Superbloom,’ her recently released extended version of ‘Bloom.’

Available now digitally and on all streaming platforms via RECORDS Nashville / Columbia Records, Perry’s latest tune is a spiritually-driven and uplifting ode to the peace and beauty of the next life.  While the verses draw on the trials and tribulations we face from day to day, the chorus turns the focus to the beautiful life God has in store for us.

Her experiences as a person and as an artist have given her a fresh perspective on who she is, and her music continues to showcase her new outlook, including her latest release.  A slow, somewhat subdued intro opens up through the first chorus and into the rest of the song to feature a catchy, mid-tempo melody that will have fans swaying and toe-tapping upon the first listen.

The modern, pop-country hooks and vibes provide the perfect backdrop for Kimberly’s trademark vocal delivery, enticing the listener to sing-along to the down-to-earth, relatable lyrics.

“Round here, hope’s a string that’s fraying

How much can we take it?

I’m just saying, I need a break for heaven’s sake

I wouldn’t have to chase my dreams

I’d already have everything

I wouldn’t have to pay my bills

Wouldn’t need no sleeping pills”

“God’s Hometown” is one of four new tracks on the recently released ‘Superbloom’.  The ten-song collection was inspired by Kimberly’s personal and professional growth since she began making music, and brings her first releases as a solo country artist to a full-circle moment.

“This year, releasing my first solo music and becoming a mama, my life as blossomed in so many colorful ways,” she shares.  “Extending ‘Bloom’ with these 4 new songs to create ‘Superbloom’ feels like I’m telling my full story and covering all the seasons that have unfolded in my life over the past couple of years.”

Having signed a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and Songs & Daughters Publishing earlier in 2023, along with a new extended EP release, Perry has hinted at taking the show on the road to share the music with the country music world.  As the year winds down, fans can expect to hear a lot from Kimberly heading into 2024.
