TIM MCGRAW - One Bad Habit - Big Machine Records
Country music superstar Tim McGraw is kicking off 2024 with a brand new single. “One Bad Habit” is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via Big Machine Records.
Written by Aaron Eshuis, Marc Beeson, and Tony Lane, the song tells the tale of one’s struggle with self-destructing tendencies, behaviors, and decisions, and the effects they can have on one’s relationships and life.
Similar to other songs that have been released by McGraw over recent years, “One Bad Habit” is an anthem centered around reflection and offers the listener the opportunity to provoke thoughts as the lyrics tend to be at the forefront of the focus. While Tim can still kick things up a notch and rock out to a hard country track when he wants to, this is an undeniably relatable story of real life and love.
As has been the case (and the expectation at this point) for his music over the years, this song is a perfect blend of McGraw’s classic country sound with a touch of modern elements that lends itself to country fans of all styles and generations.
Lyrically, this is expertly crafted, incorporating imagery and metaphors to bring the story to life right in front of the listener. It’s an honest and self-diagnosing poem, sung through the classic trademark vocals of one of the most successful to ever do it.
“’Cause I’m her wild side
The one crazy thing she does
I hope she never quits me
I hope she never gives me up
Well, I’m a mile away from perfect
If there’s a curse world, man, I’ve cursed it
I’m the only hell she’s ever gonna raise
The one bad habit I hope she never breaks”
Included in the 2023 EP ‘Poet’s Resume’, “One Bad Habit” follows the No. 1 single “Standing Room Only” as well as “Hey Whiskey” from last summer. His nationwide Standing Room Only tour with special guest Carly Pearce kicks off on March 14 in Jacksonville, FL and will stretch into the summer, as of now concluding on June 29 in Sacramento, CA.
In a brutally competitive industry, McGraw has been a mainstay as one of the most notable stars in music history over the past three decades. He has tallied an incredible 68 Top 10 hits while holding the Mediabase record for most weeks at No. 1 with all titles (73 weeks) and trails only George Strait for most No. 1 albums in the United States. With another collection of hit tracks and a nationwide tour set for this spring, one of the genre’s most legendary artists is once again ready to take the country music world by storm.
