RANDALL KING - Coulda Been Love - Warner Music Nashville

We are only a couple weeks into the new year and the country music world is already anxious for the release of one of the more highly-anticipated records of 2024’s first quarter.  ‘Into The Neon’, the 18-track sophomore effort from Randall King, is due January 26, and the West Texas native has just offered his latest song off the new project.  “Coulda Been Love” is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via Warner Music Nashville.

Written by Jake Worthington, Kim Penz and Roger Springer, King’s new tune will have listeners bobbing their heads and tapping their toes to the up-tempo melody as they sing along to the cleverly catchy lyrics.

Telling the tale of what could have been, “Coulda Been Love” tells of the decision to not dance with a girl he meets out one night, and the regret he feels, wondering if she could have ended up being “the one”.

“Heartbreak and Honkytonk.  Turn up the dial and pour ya a drink, you’re gonna need one”, King said.

The relatable storyline is told through Randall’s powerful vocal delivery, setting the scene and putting the listener right in the middle of a night’s decision that resulted in “the girl that got away”.

“What was I thinkin’ sayin’ I don’t dance girl

Let her walk away and it coulda been love

Bet you right now she’d be lightin’ up my world

What was I thinkin’ it coulda been love”

‘Into The Neon’ is produced by King along with Jared Conrad, and has been generating buzz through the industry since its announced release date in the fall of 2023.  “Coulda Been Love” follows “Hang Of Hangin’ On”, released in October to acclaim and praise amongst fans and critics alike.

Ever since the release of his first album, ‘Old Dirt Road’, as part of the Randall King Band, the Texas native has never waned from his fandom and musicianship as a traditional country artist.  His 2022 studio album, ‘Shot Glass’, served as a formal introduction to the wider country music world, and the overwhelmingly positive response to the music proved that there is a huge audience that loves that sound from years ago.

With the homegrown hayseed hereditary traits of George Strait and Keith Whitley along with the modernized elements from the likes of Dierks Bentley and Gary Allan, Randall King has created a sound that is representative of a country music lifetime spanning nearly 30 years.  “Coulda Been Love” is the latest installment in an ever-building impressive music catalogue from an undeniably talented singer-songwriter.
