WILLIAM MICHAEL MORGAN - Not Letting Go - Dreamlined Entetainment

Vicksburg, MS native William Michael Morgan made a splash on the country music scene with his debut single back in 2015.  “I Met A Girl” was a hit across the charts and radio, and his self-titled debut made him a notable name on the ever-growing list of up-and-coming singer-songwriters on the mainstream circuit.

Flash forward to 2024, and the now-seasoned industry vet is releasing his first song of the new year.  “Not Letting Go” is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now.

A self-described old soul, Morgan always seems to find a way to remain relevant in these evolutionary times within the confines of country music.  That trend continues with “Not Letting Go”, as he ponders the life of a relationship and wonders what is meant to be and how to handle the ups and downs of love’s journey.  The storytelling nature of the lyrics and the emotional fluctuation of his vocal delivery set the stage for a song that croons its way through the heart and mind of the listener. 

“I know she still loves me

And she knows I love her too

But I know she ain’t happy

So what’s a man to do

When you don’t know if you should hold on to her tighter

Or just let her walk out the door”

One of the key trademarks of a country music song over the years is the ability to present a down-to-earth story to which listeners of all situations and backgrounds can relate.  We have all experienced the ebbs and flows of relationships, often wondering where to go and what to do next.  “Not Letting Go” serves as the first of many tunes that illustrate who Morgan has become as a person and as a songwriter, which has understandably progressed from his early years in the mainstream spotlight.

“I thought our first album was a very good representation of what we do and what we like, so we set the bar really high,” he shared.  “My whole message with this project is that I want to show growth not only musically, but also personally.  I feel like now I understand myself, and I understand the music I want to make.”

Having signed his major label deal at just 19 years old, William has already achieved what many aspiring artists never do in a lifetime.  The No. 1, Gold-certified “I Met A Girl” took his career to new heights, with his 2016 album debut, ‘Vinyl’, reaching the Top 5 at Billboard.  A Grand Ole Opry performing veteran and a highly-respected singer and songwriter amongst throughout the industry, the Mississippi native is now poised to write a new chapter in his musical journey.

Currently in the studio with Keith Stegall and Dreamlined Entertainment, Morgan is recording a brand-new album.  And while the upcoming set does not have a release date as of yet, it promises to be a continued venture in the evolutionary direction of who this talented singer-songwriter has become as an artist and as a person.
