PRISCILLA BLOCK - Good On You - Mercury Nashville

It feels like ages ago that Priscilla Block was an aspiring singer-songwriter who had just arrived in Nashville from her native Raleigh, NC in hopes of achieving her dream of becoming a country music artist.  The release of her full-length album, ‘Welcome To The Block Party,’ in February 2022 transformed her into one of the brightest young stars in the genre.  Now, almost exactly two years later, it’s difficult to find a faster-rising success story.

“Good On You”, the second single off Block’s forthcoming sophomore project and her first release of 2024, is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via Mercury Nashville.

Over the course of her young but promisingly successful career, Priscilla’s music has embodied some constants as well as a few elements of evolution.  Whether she’s letting loose via a raucous party anthem of crooning her way through a bitter breakup ballad, her unapologetic, “this is me” demeanor shines through on every track.  One of her most likable traits is the acknowledgement that life is not perfect, and she embraces the ebbs and flows of life and love in a manner that relates to fans of all ages and backgrounds.

“Good On You” is a cleverly-crafted, down-to-earth bittersweet breakup tune about a relationship gone bad and all the thoughts and feelings associated with not only losing someone, but to learn that person has moved on and is now with someone else.  What Block has done on this song, as she has done with all of her music, is her ability to let her personality present itself at multiple periods throughout.  From the lyrics to the vocals to the embedded passion behind the delivery, this song is 100% Priscilla Block, which is why it will be so well-received by fans by country music as a whole.

“I wore that dress, acted my best

Hiding my mess with the same perfume

It hurt like hell, finding myself

Like a light bulb lighting up the neon truth

Vanilla ain’t me, it ain’t never gonna be

It’s plain Jane to see that she looks

Good on you”

Set to be a hit on the charts, on the radio and amongst fans and critics, “Good On You” is second single off her highly anticipated forthcoming project, following the previously-released “Hey Jack”.  Her debut project, ‘Welcome To The Block Party’, was released in 2022, while in August 2023, the NC native enjoyed her first #1 single for “You, Me And Whiskey” with Justin Moore.  In addition to her nationwide run her headlining HEY JACK TOUR, Block will also make appearances at some of the biggest festivals in the country, with dates stretching through the spring and summer.
