LAINEY WILSON - Country's Cool Again - Broken Bow Records

GRAMMY-award winning country music superstar Lainey Wilson is back with a new tune, set to once again take the industry by storm.  Her first single of 2024, “Country’s Cool Again”, is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via Broken Bow Records.

Written by Wilson along with frequent collaborators Trannie Wlson and Dallas Wilson, as well as band leader Asian Freeman, the song is an ode to the foundation of her upbringing and her reflection on how the world around her has changed over the years.  It’s a full-circle musical realization spread out over three-plus minutes or irresistibly catchy hooks and melodies alongside Lainey’s trademark southern drawl and cleverly-crafted lyrics.

“This past year has been a wild ride and truly shown me that country music is really loving me back”, Lainey said.  “This track is an ode to my upbringing and the story of my journey in this industry – where I have been and where I am now.  I’m feeling all the love from country music fans, and I can’t wait to hear everyone singing this song back to me while we’re out on the road this year.”

From start to finish, this song represents everything we have come to know and love about this incredibly talented songstress.  She continues to offer something fresh and unique from song to song without compromising who she is as a singer or songwriter.  The tune hits home in all the right places, and embraces the southern down-to-earth-demeanor while also lending itself to the ears of those who prefer the pop-country modern sound.

“I was born in boots on humble ground

These kinda roots, yeah, they sure don’t grow out

Yeah, even in a guitar town

My crooked drawl, the way I sung

My mama’s genes sure stuck out like a thumb

In a Metro City crowd

Oh me, oh my, how things have changed

And I can’t believe my eyes these days”

After years of songwriting, singing, and touring, 2023 skyrocketed Lainey’s career into the stratosphere, as she claimed a well-deserved GRAMMY award for her 2022 album, ‘Bell Bottom Country’, while also winning the CMA Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year this past November.

In the fall of 2023, Wilson announced her Country’s Cool Again Tour for this year.  The trek kicks off on May 31st in Nashville, hitting more than 35 markets and closing out in Monroe, LA, near her hometown of Baskin.  The tour will feature direct support from Jackson Dean, Ian Munsick, and Zach Top.  “Country’s Cool Again” serves as the first taste of new music from Lainey since 2022, and her forthcoming project will undoubtedly be one of the most highly-anticipated releases in years.
