BAILEY ZIMMERMAN - Holy Smokes - Warner Music Nashville/Elektra Records

Country star Bailey Zimmerman is ready to begin the next chapter in his young but wildly successful career.  “Holy Smokes”, the brand-new tune and his first single of 2024, is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via Warner Music Nashville.

Written by Zimmerman along with Austin Shawn, Ben Stennis, Michael Tyler, and Lauren Hungate, “Holy Smokes” is his first new solo music since his debut record last year.  Bailey teased the song with an abbreviated audio clip in January, and with anticipation escalating from fans and media alike, the tune is available for all to hear in its entirety.

From start to finish, this song does not disappoint.  Poetic lyricism, sophisticatedly ear-pleasing musical arrangements, and emotionally-powerful vocal delivery highlight what will undoubtedly be another hit for the young star.  It’s a beautifully written tune about love and growing up.

The vivid imagery and natural storytelling nature of the song transports the listener right into the shoes, the mind, and the heart of the songwriters.  The atmospheric ambiance that is created through the instrumentation alongside the vocal delivery not only sets the vibe for the story being told, but invites us to re-visit memories from our own personal lives as we listen.

“At seventeen, that’s what hallelujah was

Life wasn’t heavy in the back of that Chevy

Me, her and the holy ghost

Something about us, hell of a rush

Fallin’ in love like nothing, holy smokes”

One of the elements of a truly gifted artist is his/her ability to consistently offer something different while always incorporating his/her own touch.  In such a short time in the mainstream spotlight, Zimmerman has seemingly mastered the ability to trademark his sound.  He’s found his niche in the industry, has run with it and doesn’t appear to be looking back.

Zimmerman made history with ‘Religiously. The Album’, which became the biggest streaming country debut of all time.  The collection features three consecutive Multi-Platinum, No. 1 country radio singles “Religiously,” “Fall In Love”, and the No. 1 most-played song on country radio from 2023, “Rock And A Hard Place.”  His current single, “Where It Ends,” is climbing the charts, aiming to become yet another No. 1 for the Illinois native.

In addition to his unprecedented success on the charts and radio, Bailey has a busy year in store on the road.  With dates scheduled for his headlining ‘Religiously. The Tour’ beginning this month as well as appearances at some of the biggest country festivals of the year, he will also be a special guest on the stadium treks of Morgan Wallen and Luke Bryan through the spring, summer, and fall.
