GEORGIA WEBSTER - Delusional- River House Artists/Sony Music Nashville

Georgia Webster caught the attention of the eyes and ears of the mainstream pop country audience when she appeared as direct support on Kelsea Ballerini’s HEARTFIRST TOUR in 2023.  The Hampden, MA native continues to make a name for herself as a talented singer-songwriter on the rise, releasing her new single via Sony Music Nashville.  “Delusional” is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now.

Written by Webster along with Austin Goodloe, Joybeth Taylor, and Lydia Vaughan, the tune tells the tale of a someone struggling through the aftermath of a breakup, emotionally toiling her way the common themes of denial, grief, and frustration.

“I wrote ‘Delusional’ about feeling crazy over a relationship and feeling like you’re in denial,” Georgia shared.  “It’s a feeling I think a lot of people can relate to and I hope this songs connects with everyone and helps them cope in the way that it helped me when I wrote it!”

The soul and passion with which Georgia croons her way through the verses immediately sets the vibe for a story of heartbreak, and her blues-influenced vocal delivery as the song breaks into the chorus takes the emotional impact to another level.

“Was it love at first sight or did love just make me blind

I could have sworn that the feelin’ was mutual

When you said we were somethin’ special you meant it, right

Were we crazy ‘bout each other

Or was I just delusional

Am I just delusional”

A good song accomplishes more than just making the listener want to dance and sing along.  A truly well-written tune makes us feel something, takes us deeper into our own thoughts and emotions, and enables us to apply what we’re hearing into our own lives.  Unfortunately, we all have or will endure heartbreak, and a times, we can feel as though we are going crazy with the thoughts we have going through our minds as we try to make sense out of the relationship and our lives going forward.

“Delusional” encompasses that large multitude of expressive and emotive feelings and poetically articulates a musical diary entry that will connect with listeners as they cope with emotional loss.  This song may have been co-written and sung by a young woman, but the message will resonate with those of all age, background, and experiences.

Webster, in such a short amount of time, has showcased her invocative and creative approach to musical storytelling, solidifying herself as a truly unique talent among singers and songwriters across the industry.

Serving as a follow up to her earlier heartbreak ballad, “Attention,” “Delusional” continues the trend of addressing themes of sadness and vulnerability, as well as coping, self-assurance, and healing.  Her genre-blending catalogue continues to develop and showcase her undeniable talent as she infectiously explores the emotion-infused residence of heartbreak and sadness through a musical ingenuity well beyond her years.
