CALLIE MCCULLOUGH - All That I Want - Independent Release

Since releasing her 2020 debut album After Midnight, Canadian singer-songwriter Callie McCullough has earned several award nominations in her home country while engraining herself in Nashville’s songwriting community, continually refining the stark definitions of her traditional country aura to uniquely brand her refreshing throwback sound.

When the on the rise talent emerged into her next chapter late last year with the very well-received, tongue and cheek, “What If I Don’t,” a substantial amount of buzz immediately surrounded her as music aficionados and diehard fans clamored for more with heightened anticipation.

She now meets that anticipation with her first single of the new year, “All That I Want.”

The song, written by Callie, Scotty Kipfer, and Molly Brown, intriguingly peels back a layer of angelic vulnerability within the waver of her voice as she glides it along the breezy tempo, matching her tonality to the essence of love floating the groove.

Laced in atmospheric harmonies that add distinctive elements of 1970’s flare to the overall vibe, McCullough flirtatiously leads through the opening verse, setting the scene for a reconnecting night in with her better half as she teases that they should just kill the lights, put on an old record, and slow dance in the kitchen, while lovingly exclaiming that although it’s been way too long since they’ve been alone together, “lovin’ you is always worth the wait.”

Continuing to walk within that same very flirtatious realm, one which sees her yeaning to slow down time and savor their alone together moment, she turns up the heat throughout the second verse, pulling into steamier tilted ideas of catching back up with one another by hiding under the covers until the sun comes back around, adding pure innocence to the gentleness of chorus as she delves deeper into the notion of disconnecting from the world to fall back into each other:

“Every minute we’re not together

Feels like another forever

So darlin’ let’s do whatever you want

Cause all that I want is you

All that I want, all that I want

All that I want is you”

With each of her two most recent efforts, Callie McCullough has masterfully chosen to unveil new pieces of her puzzle, swerving anything predictable and putting on a bold showcase of extreme growth within the familiarity her signature feels while unapologetically walking them to the edges of blurred genre lines to inject her sound with fresh flavors to keep the listener wanting more.
