GREYLAN JAMES - Man Up - Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment

ACM Award-winner Greylan James has released a new track to the masses, one that takes a deep dive into the internal conflict and emotional turmoil surrounding the end of a relationship.  “Man Up” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment.

“’Man Up’ is a song I’ve been waiting to drop for a while now, and I’m so excited the time has come,” James said.  “I’m so proud of every lyric, and over everything, I’m hoping it reaches those who are going through the tough time of a breakup.  If it’s able to help just one person, I’ll feel it served its purpose.  That’s what I’m looking forward to.”

Written by James along with Jordan Minton, the tune tells the tale of one learning to cope with the aftermath of a breakup, trying to navigate through his thoughts and feelings while tempering advice from others, all the while realizing how moving on is much easier said than done.

Searching for guidance and closure, he looks to God for support while sorting through his own emotions while trying to carry on with his day-to-day life.

Musically, this is a stripped-down, simplistic musical effort, perfectly created to showcase the priority of the tune, which is the lyrical anecdotes and the emotional undertone of the vocal delivery.

“The man up at 3 in the morning

Sitting ‘round, wondering if you’re keeping some other man up

With the kisses I’m missing

Burning down, sending a prayer to the man upstairs

If He’s there, I could really use some help

Hell, baby, you can really mess a man up”

Ever since his appearance on NBC’s “The Voice” in 2013, Greylan has established himself as a gifted young talent on the country music scene.  Having penned tunes for the likes of Keny Chesney, Chris Young, and Chris Janson, he garnered and earned the reputation as a sought-after songwriter from the onset of his career; but his emergence as a singer and recording artist continues with tunes like “Man Up”.

While his artistic career continues to skyrocket, he also continues to score songwriting credits as well, with additional tunes being recorded by the likes of Cole Swindell and Darius Rucker, while landing his first No. 1 with “Next Thing You Know” by Jordan Davis.

James has been busy on the road throughout the year, and he will continue his touring schedule in October when he joins Ashley Cooke on her “Your Place Tour”, hitting markets from coast to coast through the fall and into the winter.
