As his latest collaboration with Mackenzie Porter, “Thinking ‘Bout You,” continues to rocket its way up the country music charts – this week into the Top 15 – Dustin Lynch now gives his fans some more new material with “Huntin’ Land,” another stellar collaboration, this time with hot rising star Riley Green.

The song, co-written by Lynch, Andy Albert, Hunter Phelps, and Will Weatherly, is just a gritty, fun, tempo driven tune that’s laced with an ultra-catchy melody and a lyric that’s absolutely bent towards reaching his male fanbase, but one that still provides enough twist of humor to keep his female fans still engaged.

The opening verse runs us through a long list of reasons of why he shouldn’t be with the girl that he’s currently with:

“She's always counting my beers and she's cutting me off

She don't like none of my friends and she's scared of my dogs

She never wants to party with me on the weekend

She's always picking fights for no good reason, man

She hates my old lucky boots, always trashing my truck”

However, this is strictly designed to lead you straight into the chorus where he satisfies the question that his buddies have been asking as to why he stays with her, when he makes it clear as day – her daddy has good huntin’ land.

This is a tongue and cheek song at its core, and the type that will leave a memorable impression and get people talking. But it also does a lot of crucial things very right.

By having two of country music hottest young stars on a track together, it immediately attracts positive attention and gets radio spins. But then when you couple that with the melody of the chorus that makes you want to raise your arm in the air and bounce along with it, you have a song that’s built for an energetic, crowd participation moment during a live show – something that Lynch has commented on as he’s just added the song to his setlists and is already seeing its effect on the crowd.
