WALKER COUNTY
"Liar"
Warner Music Nashville
Sulphur Springs, Indiana duo Walker County released their new single, “Liar”, on October 1st. Comprised of sisters Ivy Dene and Sophie Dawn, the latest track follows in the footsteps of previous hits like “Drag It Out”, “Someone’s Someone”, and “Bits & Pieces”.
This is undoubtedly a unique song, and, like the rest of the sisters’ tracks, has that inimitable sound that immediately imbeds itself into the listeners’ heads for hours and days after hearing it. There is an edgy attitude to both the melody and the vocals, while giving way ever so slightly to the country roots that bred this impressive duo’s musical upbringing.
“Liar” centers around the concept of getting over a past love, rejecting all of the thoughts and actions that she (the singer) wishes she didn’t feel or do following a breakup. She is a self-proclaimed “liar”.
“Everyone knows I’m a liar
I can’t help myself
I’m a look-me-in-the-eyes, with-a-smile, bold-faced liar
I’m tryin’ to trick my heart into thinkin’ it’s alright, yeah
And I don’t really care if everybody knows I’m a liar”
With this latest effort, Walker County continues their ascent as one of the brightest up and coming duos on the country music circuit. Their creative, ingenious lyrics and powerful vocal delivery accompanied irresistible beats and melodies, collectively entrenching themselves as a country music mainstay.
Walker County currently has dates through the end of the year, including some headlining gigs mixed in with dates supporting Old Dominion as well as Tanya Tucker.
