What started out with his #1 charting single “One Mississippi” turned into quite the promo run for Kane Brown as he’s continuously teased fans with songs from his highly anticipated Different Man album (due out September 9, 2022).

Where both “Whiskey Sour” and “Leave Me Alone” tilted into his softer side and elevated his outstanding vocals as they wrapped the emotions around tug at your heart lyrics, “Like I Love Country Music” ignited Friday night dance halls as boot heels clicked along with the decisively 90’s country inspired catchiness of the song.

His latest tease, “Grand,” saw him swerving way away from what we had already heard from him as he unapologetically moved a pop laden hip hop vibed sound to the forefront.

However, what he’s achieved with each of these song teasers ahead of the album, is that he’s boldly said that his new music will be well-rounded, encompass every side of his arsenal, and could be uniquely unpredictable from song to song.

He now returns with another teaser, “Go Around.”

Written by Brown with Zach Beeken, Garrett Nichols, Jordan Schmidt, and Ernest, the pop infused backbeat of the song quickly gives way to a moody tempo driven flare that balances right on the edges of purely pop and modern country, skillfully also adding in all the right touches of soul to elevate the lyric as Brown injects them with the proper amount of assuredness as he places his eyes on a girl who just walked in the bar;  the one that just changed his whole world, but that he can also recognize as someone who has had her heartbroken.

Brown smartly moves the second verse into his total knowing and understanding of the why’s behind the walls that she’s surrounded herself with in her efforts to avoid any further hurt, but with complete confidence, he also suggests to her, “But I'm pretty damn sure, I could be that missing piece that you've been looking for,” and with persistence sings, “Girl, I'm the kinda guy hell-bent on changing your mind!”

Though the song never really does resolve the question of if they end up together or not, this one is expertly written to not really be about the end result at all, but rather to be all about the pursuit of someone who has made themselves emotionally unattainable.

There’s a local club that I frequent where the DJ shifts from playing straight up country to hip hop, but in the half hour between the full-on switch in styles, the DJ will begin to blend in country songs that carry the hip hop attitude while never fully committing to one style or the other as they walk a fine line on both. That’s exactly what Kane Brown has done with “Go Around,” further hyping the already tremendous buzz for his new album while setting one final push for it to the #1 position that it will clearly find itself landing in upon its release.
