JOSH TURNER - Heatin' Things Up - MCA Nashville

Twenty years into an impeccably successful career, Josh Turner is set to release new music on an extended deal with his long-time label.  His latest tune is an example of what has made him a favorite of millions of fans across the country for past two decades, with its modern flare housed by its homage to the traditional elements.  “Heatin’ Things Up” is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via MCA Nashville.

Written by Marv Green, Luke Laird and Brice Long, and produced by Kenny Greenburg, “Heatin’ Things Up” finds its home right in Turner’s wheelhouse, an upbeat, catchy traditional ode to a woman who still gets his juices flowing after all the years they’ve spent together.  It’s relatable, cute, and sweet, and a testament to true love and affection for which all of us strive in our own lives.

There are certainly elements that will sound familiar to longtime fans of the South Carolina native, who found similarities to a multi-Platinum hit from his past.

“This song was kind of in the same vein as ‘Your Man’, but musically, it’s just very interesting,” Turner said.  “I can’t wait to see how fans react to that live”.

Turner’s vocals are top-notch as usual, as he croons his way through the affectional anecdotes, stretching his range across the verses to the sing-along chorus.

“I try to say in a conversation and follow what friends are saying

My eyes catch your eyes and my mind goes off on us

I do my best to act like I don’t know what’s waiting

But it’s hard to keep it cool when you’re heatin’ things up”

As a new chapter is being written, the story of Josh Turner’s career has already been long celebrated and appreciated.  He has been nominated for two GRAMMY Awards, five CMA Awards, two ACM Awards, one CMT Award, seven ACA Awards and has received six Inspirational Country Music Awards.  He has tallied five No. 1 singles to date, including “Long Black Train”, “Why Don’t We Just Dance”, “Your Man”, and he released his renowned Great Hits album in the fall of 2023.

Josh is currently on the road, headlining his Great Hits Tour which is set to take him coast to coast from now through the fall.  With new music and nationwide tour on the itinerary, 2024 is shaping up to one of the biggest and best years of Turner’s career.
