TIGIRLILY GOLD - Leroy - Monument Records

Nashville, TN has been known as one of the most famous music towns in the country, if not the world, for years now.  The narrative of Music City is the notion that an unknown singer-songwriter with undeniable talent can be discovered by playing the bars and honkytonks on Broadway.

Conversely, over the past decade or so, there has been some shade cast on the idea that top-notch industry reps scan the Broadway bars for undiscovered talent.  For some artists, though, performing on one of the most famous live music stretches in the country isn’t just about exposure…it’s about honing their craft, developing their songwriting, singing, and performing ability, while gaining the experience and confidence necessary in putting their best foot forward.

For those who have not “met” North Dakota natives Tigirlily Gold, they are a prime example of an incredibly talented tandem with the energy and motivation to take them wherever they want to go.

Following two CMT Award nominations earlier this year for Breakthrough Female Video and Duo/Group Vide of the Year as well as a win for Best New Duo / Group at the ACM Awards, the talented duo has released a brand-new tune.  “Leroy” is available everywhere now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Monument Records.

Written by Nora Collins, Jessie Jo Dillon and Forest Glen Whitehead, the song evokes a sense of empowerment and confidence to the listener in hopes of leaving a relationship in which you aren’t being treated the way you deserve.

The pleasant, modern-country melody beautifully glides behind the characteristically southern belle harmonious delivery of their two infectiously-blended vocals to make us all sway, tap and sing along.

“You probably ought to call Leroy

‘cause I done told you what I need boy

In one ear, out the other, feeling like your other you know, yeah

I’ve cussed about it, I’ve cried about it

And now I’m nothing but tired about it

So, the next time you miss the sound of my voice

You probably ought to call Leroy”

The new song coincides with the announcement that the sisters’ debut album, ‘Blonde’, will be released on July 26, 2024.  In addition to “Leroy”, the forthcoming, highly-anticipated record will feature their current single, “I Tried A Ring On”, as well as their Top 40 hit “Shoot Tequila”.  Collectively, the album promises to bring the infectious energy the ladies possess while also offering a sentimental, vulnerable, side and showcasing beautiful vocal harmonies and sophisticated songwriting.

“Blonde is all about being undeniably and unapologetically yourself,” Krista said.  “We want everyone to feel confident and vulnerable enough at the same time to say what they need to say.”

Deciding to embark on a musical career full-time in their mid-teens, Kendra and Krista toured the Midwest for years before heading to Nashville and hitting the grind of songwriters’ nights and the honkytonk scene.  Now in 2024, Tigirlily Gold is becoming known as one of the bright young duos in all of country music, with their biggest and best still to come.
