JENNA PAULETTE - Hang Your Hat - Leo 33

Lewisville, TX native and working-cowgirl-and-miraculously-talented singer-songwriter Jenna Paulette has released her latest single, a detailed emotional account of her newfound love.  “Hang Your Hat” is now available, both digitally and on all streaming platforms via independent record label Leo33.

Written by Jenna along with Jim Beavers, Rhett Akins and Smith Ahnquist, the easy-listening up-tempo track is a feel-good ode to that special person in your life that makes it complete.  For Paulett+e, she immediately felt a connection to the idea upon the song’s conception.

“Saying to someone you love, ‘hey you can depend on me, I’ll be there in every way.’  That’s where I’m at in life,” Jenna said.  “I’ve got someone that gave me a safe place to call home, so I’m giving him a heart he can trust.”

A traditional song at its core with modern interludes scattered throughout, this is an effort that will be embraced by listeners of all ages.  It’s a head-bobber and toe-tapper for a night out at the honkytonk or on the open road with the windows down.  The down-to-earth, country life lyrics flow freely from line to line, while Jenna once again shows off her vocal control and range, which are pristine from start to finish.

“I got a heart you can hang your hat on

I got a kiss to hitch your wagon to

I got a love with the front porch light on

When it’s time to kick off your boots

When the job gets done

Baby run to the one

Who makes you feel like home

I got a heart you can hang your hat on”

Serving as her a follow-up to “Darlin’,” her first single since singing with Leo33, “Hang Your Hat” comes as Paulette prepares for her sophomore album.  She recently released ‘The Girl I was (Red Dirt Deluxe’, marking the one-year anniversary of her debut album, ‘The Girl I Was,’ released in March 2023.

As her debut record surpassed 30 million on-demand streams while drawing praise by critics and fans alike, the Texas native has been honing her craft while making a name for herself as a fast-rising singer-songwriter in the industry.  She is currently on the road with Aaron Watson as part of his The Armadillo Dance Hall Tour.
